While there will always be the classic solitaire (single stone) engagement ring, each year we see different trends in engagement ring design emerge. Here’s our run-down of the latest designs we expect to be making in 2017.
Halo designs – incredibly popular during 2016, halo designs are moving on a little with variations in stone size and shape, as seen in the twisted halo, but are also being seen in mixed metals. Halos look stunning around all shapes of diamond, but create an exquisite impression set around elegant shapes such as marquise and teardrop.
East West settings – take a beautifully-shaped diamond (or other precious stone) and set it sideways to create extra interest. As all of our jewellery is bespoke we can design the perfect setting for the stone your intended’s heart desires.
Accent diamonds – what’s better than a stunning diamond in a beautiful setting? One that’s accented by other diamonds! This style is moving away from the previous incarnation of three similar-sized stones or one large stone and two slightly smaller ones of the same shape either side. There’s a wide range of precious stone colours, shapes and sizes to play with.
Rose gold – big in 2016 and not showing any signs of waning in popularity, rose gold is a wonderfully contemporary alternative to yellow gold. We can change metals to suit your style, lifestyle, and budget, so do chat to us about different options to make sure we create a ring that’s as unique as you are.
Stacking rings – they’ve long been a “thing” in dress jewellery, but we expect stacking rings will make a real splash in the engagement ring market during 2017. Of course, every hand-made engagement and wedding ring pair we make is effectively the start of a set of stacking rings.
Simply choose one stone, white diamonds are the most popular, but we have also sourced emeralds, sapphires, rubies and coloured diamonds in pink, brown and black. We’ll present the stone in our specially-designed box. You still get that down on one knee to open a box moment, you get all the credit for a proper proposal, but the pair of you design the ring together, guaranteeing it’s perfect in every way.
