Once the proposals been done and the engagement ring donned, every bride (and groom) starts thinking about organising the big day itself. But before you start planning, why not consider some of the latest wedding trends emerging in 2017. Here’s a selection of some of our favourites to help inspire you.
‘Greenery’ is Pantone’s colour of the year, and is the perfect way to create a connection with nature, whatever season your wedding falls in. Don’t just limit your greens to fabrics and flowers though, accessorise your venue with luscious potted plants and other natural elements such as stone and woods, and embrace this year’s big bouquet comeback with a cascade arrangement of flora and foliage.
A few of our customers this year, have even incorporated the colour green into their rings, rather than the standard white diamond. What do you think?
Cupcakes are so last year. In 2017, it’s all about doughnuts and other delightfully diverse delicacies. Doughnuts displayed on a pin-board are great for curbing after-dancing hunger pangs, or try an oyster and champagne bar if you’re feeling brave.
One of the nation’s favourite tipples, there are lots of ways to include gin in your wedding celebrations. Make your own sloe gin as wedding favours, or buy some miniatures and hang a homemade tag on each as place setting cards – or save up a selection of beautiful bottles to use as centrepieces. We’ll also be seeing lots of gin bars and DIY cocktails on the wedding menu this year, what a great way to refresh your guests.
As rustic starts to lose favour, this year we’ll see a rise in urban-influenced venues and decor. Select a warehouse or industrial/urban building to host your event in, then soften the hard concrete and minimal interiors with well chosen accessories, such as wire-framed lighting and decorations, or quirky up-cycled table settings made from metal objects (bent forks work well for holding name cards). Candles and flower arrangements will help to balance the barely-there interior decor with elegance and beauty. Sometimes less really can be more.
There are some great wedding trends this year, so take a look around and don’t be scared to experiment with ideas, and if you want your wedding rings to be as unique as your nuptials, give us a call on 01274 551 224 and we can help you plan the most important accessory of the day.
